As part of the Erasmus+ CBHE MELINA program "Mastering Efficient Lighting in North Africa" (Grant Number 101179276), the Universities of Carthage and Monastir are organizing a project launch seminar titled "MELINA: Towards 'Smart' Lighting in Tunisia." The CBHE Erasmus+ MELINA project is funded by the European Union and coordinated by the University of Toulouse. Its consortium includes 10 universities from 7 different countries.
The objective of the CBHE Erasmus+ MELINA project is to establish a set of academic training programs on lighting, which are currently lacking in the three Maghreb countries. This seminar aims to bring together decision-makers, public organizations, industry representatives, companies, and lighting design offices, along with all project partners, to unify stakeholders from the outset. The seminar will focus on examining the needs and opportunities in efficient lighting to identify suitable areas for developing tailored training programs. These areas may include:
- 🛠️ Lighting Design
- 💡 Lighting Equipment and Control Systems
- 🌱 LED Lighting Technology
- 🏛️ Architecture and Integration of Artificial and Natural Lighting
- 🔍 Quality Control of Lighting Equipment
- 🌍 Environmental Protection and Public Health
The seminar is open and free of charge. It will take place at the amphitheater of the National School of Architecture and Urbanism (ENAU) in Sidi Bou Said, starting at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.
