The "Research to Business" (R2B) program is a regional initiative led by the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) in partnership with the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), and implemented by Berytech, ANIMA Investment Network, and the University of Barcelona, in line with the UfM R&I agenda and the 2022 UfM Ministerial Declaration. Its goal is to support applied research teams across the Mediterranean region in transforming their scientific discoveries into market-ready and commercially viable innovations. The program offers structured commercialisation support, mentorship, expert advice, regional visibility, and access to a network of industry players, investors, and innovation stakeholders. It targets teams actively developing innovation projects with a clearly defined application or proof of concept, addressing regional challenges, and demonstrating strong commercial potential.
