The Second Call for Working Groups officially opened on 29 April 2025. This call will support seven Working Groups for a 12-month period, running from September 2025 to September 2026.
For the Second Call, two types of proposals will be evaluated: 1. New Working Group proposals focused on 3 pre-defined topics 2. Extension requests from existing Working Groups For proposals for new Working Groups, the application process includes three key stages, including: - Submission of Expressions of Interest (mandatory for new Working Groups by the 20th of May 2025 by midnight CEST
- Community exchange via an online Brokerage Event on the 23rd of May 2025 at 14h-16h30 CEST
- Submission of Full Proposals by 12 June 2025 by midnight CEST

Proposals for new Working Groups should be formed around at least one of the following three pre-defined topics: - Core Commitment 4: Avoiding the use of university rankings in research assessment;
- Qualitative assessment guidance and frameworks, including methods combining qualitative and quantitative elements;
- Assessment of team science and interdisciplinary, intersectoral, or multisectoral contributions, including roles outside academia.

The Second Call for Working Groups also allows for a very limited number of existing Working Groups to extend the lifetime of their operations by one year.
For existing Working Groups applying for one-year extensions, Expressions of Interest are not required and attendance of the Brokerage Event is optional. Existing Working Groups requesting extensions are only required to submit their full proposal via online form by 12 June 2025 by midnight CEST. |
